Who We Are

The Lucky Harvest Project (Le Projet la Récolte Chanceuse ) was founded in December 1990, and incorporated in January 1991. The goal of the Project was to create the first therapeutic riding center in Quebec. The Lucky Harvest Therapeutic Riding Center is the result of many years of hard work. As the first recognized facility in Quebec, Lucky Harvest has inspired and facilitated the opening of other therapeutic riding centers in the province.

The Project owns, and operates the therapeutic riding center, whose primary activity is to provide therapy, rehabilitation and enjoyment to children, youths, and adults with physical, intellectual, emotional and/or developmental disabilities. We also provide a limited number of riding lessons to able bodied riders as well.

Therapeutic riding is a growing, and widely-accepted, treatment for a broad range of physical, mental, and emotional disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Down’s and Rett Syndromes, neuromuscular disorders, post-traumatic brain injury, autism, ADHD, and cognitive disorders. The field is broadening to include helping people with some psychiatric & personality disorders. The experience of being able to ride a horse for someone who has reduced or limited mobility or is confined to a wheelchair, has tremendous emotional and social benefits. Not only is this activity therapeutic, but it is also a wonderful sport and recreational activity that is now available to disabled people within our community. No one should discount the positive emotional effects a horse has on healing and our overall well being.

Our primary goal as a riding center is to provide a positive, safe and supportive environment for every rider. We focus on what each rider can accomplish, not on their limitations. We embrace our mission to offer all individuals a quality program of equine therapy.
