President
Dr. Howard Struthers, DVM, Ormstown, QC

Dr Struthers was born in Ogema, Saskatchewan, and lived there until leaving for veterinary school. He is a graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, with a specialty in large animal care. Following his graduation in 1979, he spent two years working at the Sydney Animal Hospital on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia.

In 1981, Dr. Struthers moved to Ormstown, Québec, with his family to continue his veterinary practice. He is a full partner in the Ormstown Veterinary Clinic, which employs 10 full-time veterinarians who work with both large and small animals. Dr. Struthers has been the principal veterinarian for the Lucky Harvest horses since we opened in 1990. He joined the Board of Directors in 1996.

Vice-President
George Cairncross, Laval, QC

Mr. Cairncross was born in Howick Québec. His family has lived in the area for many years, and his roots are still well established in the Chateauguay Valley. He is a graduate of MacDonald College with a diploma in Agriculture obtained in 1961.

For the past thirty-five years, Mr. Cairncross has worked in the automobile leasing business. For the past fifteen years, he has been sales manager for Omega Leasing in Montreal. He is an active member of the Kentucky Colonels. Even though he no longer lives in the Chateauguay Valley, he remains a frequent visitor to the area, and is still active in our community. He joined the Board of Directors in 1999.

Secretary
Louise Lacey, Mercier, QC

Ms. Lacey joined Lucky Harvest in 2000, and remains a very active volunteer horse leader and side walker. In 1991, she joined the Board of Directors. She currently is working towards her certification as a therapeutic riding instructor.

Ms. Lacey’s passions in life have always been children and horses. Louise has three grown daughters, and has been riding horses since the age of three. She was on the Board of Directors at the Woodlands Yacht Club for 12 years, where she coordinated, and administered, their summer camp program. She is presently the senior manager of product design at Ad Display, located in Chateauguay, Quebec.

Director
Patrick Lang,  Hinchinbrooke, QC

Mr. Lang was born and raised in Montreal. At the age of 18, shortly after he finished high school, he left Montreal and traveled to California to work on a horse farm. Six months later, he returned to Québec and began to work at Glencoe farms, a standard-bred breeding and training facility, where he remained for ten years. In 1981, Pat and his wife Lise, purchased a farm in Hinchinbrooke Quebec, where for the past 24 years they have been breeding and training champion standard-bred horses of their own. His horses raced at the Hippodrome de Montréal – Blue Bonnets prior to its closing and now at races in Ottawa and Toronto .

Mr. Lang has been very active in our community, particularly with our youth. He has coached basketball, and been very involved with the local elementary school, the Heritage Elementary school (formerly Huntingdon Academy). Mr. Lang joined the Board of Directors in 1993, and brings to the Board expertise and help with horse care, transportation, and general work.
